Otto and Media Markt Lead the Way: The New Trend is Renting Instead of Buying
First, the major German mail-order company Otto launched its rental service for customers. This new business model allows Otto customers to rent many of its products for a set period instead of purchasing them outright. A similar approach is being taken by Media Markt Management AG, the company behind the well-known Media Markt and Saturn stores.
The rental price includes home delivery and collection. All products come with a minimum rental period of three months, with no maximum rental duration. Every returned item is thoroughly inspected, cleaned, and refurbished to ensure it can be rented out again in excellent condition.
